IPHONE with SOS feature IOS 10. 2 beta 3

iOS 10.2 would bring India Only SOS Button functionality to iPhone
Apple had added the SOS button in an earlier version of iOS 10.2 beta, but the third beta has removed it from all other parts of the world except India, Mac Rumors reports. If you want to try out the iOS 10.2 beta 3 version, you can sign up on Apple's site.

The third beta version of iOS 10.2 is now available to the public, bringing some new features to iPhone and iPad models. Among these is what can be called the first India-only functionality: the SOS button.
The Emergency SOS feature on iPhones would be in keeping with the Indian government’s recent mandate that all mobile phones, both smartphones and feature phones, must have a SOS button for emergency situations. This ruling comes into effect on January 1, 2017, though mobile phone manufacturers have asked the government to defer it to April 1.

(Also seePanic Buttons on Cellphones a Must. What This Means for You.)

iOS 10.2 beta 3 users can head to Settings -> General menu, where they will find the Emergency SOS option. Tap on the button to personalise the settings under this option, such as how many times you will have to press the Power button to make the Emergency SOS call, whether to sound a countdown for that or not, etc. The default settings can be seen in the screenshot below:

The default emergency number in the software is 112, the new single emergency number that India will adopt starting January 1, 2017, the same day SOS buttons become mandatory on phones. 112 is saved as Distress Number in the Contacts after the beta is installed; even if you delete Distress Number from Contacts or change the number to something else, activating the Emergency SOS calls were being sent to 112 during our tests. You can add more phone numbers to send emergency alerts to via the Health app.

iOS 10.2 beta 3 brings some other new features as well, such as the Send With Love Screen Effect for Messages and the Feedback app. The update also marks the debut of a new TV app that replaces the Videos app; this new app, however, is available only in the US, and the Videos app is still available in rest of the world.

*why RBI is issuing ₹2000 Rupees Notes *

The Rs 2000 currency is designed keeping in mind to eradicate the black money issues using state of the art indigenous nano technology, every Rs. 2000 currency note is embedded with a *NGC (Nano GPS Chip)*

*How the embeded NGC Technology Works?*
The unique feature of the NGC is it dosent need any power source. It only acts as a signal reflector. When a Satellite sends a signal requesting location the NGC reflects back the signal from the location, giving precise location coordinates, and the serial number of the currency back to the satellite, this way every NGC embedded currency can be easily tracked & located even if it is kept 120 meters below ground level. The NGC cant be tampered with or removed without damaging the currency note

*How will this help eradicate black money menace?*
Since every NGC embeded currency can be tracked. The satellite can identify the exact amount of money stored at a certain location. If a relatively high concentration of currency is found a certain location for a longer period of time at suspicious locations other than banks & other financial institutions. The information will be passed on to the Income Tax Department for further investigation

*Just a beginning of the end of black money in India*

Smog! Gas chambers Cities under air pollution but no solution

Smog hanging over cities is the most familiar and obvious form of air pollution. But there are l kinds of pollution—some visible, some invisible—that contribute to global warming. Generally any substance that people introduce into the atmosphere that has damaging effects on living things and the environment is considered air pollution.
Smog basically  derived from the merging of two words; smoke and fog. Smog is also used to describe the type of fog which has smoke or soot in it. Smog is a yellowish or blackish fog formed mainly by a mixture of pollutants in the atmosphere which consists of fine particles and ground level ozone. Smog which occurs mainly because of air pollution, can also be defined as a mixture of various gases with dust and water vapor. Smog also refers to hazy air that makes breathing difficult.
Carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, is the main pollutant that is warming Earth. Though living things emit carbon dioxide when they breathe, carbon dioxide is widely considered to be a pollutant when associated with cars, planes, power plants, and other human activities that involve the burning of fossil fuels such as gasoline and natural gas. In the past 150 years, such activities have pumped enough carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to raise its levels higher than they have been for hundreds of thousands of years.

Air pollution is a phenomenon by which particles (solid or liquid) and gases contaminate the environment. Such contamination can result in health effects on the population, which might be either chronic (arising from long-term exposure), or acute (due to accidents). Other effects of pollution include damage to materials (e.g., the marble statues on the Parthenon are corroded as a result of air pollution in the city of Athens), agricultural damage (such as reduced crop yields and tree growth), impairment of visibility (tiny particles scatter light very efficiently), and even climate change (certain gases absorb energy emitted by the Smog is harmful and it is evident from the components that form it and effects that can happen from it. It is harmful to humans, animals, plants and the nature as a whole. Many people deaths were recorded, notably those relating to bronchial diseases. Heavy smog is responsible for decreasing the UV radiation greatly. Thus heavy smog results in a low production of the crucial natural element vitamin D leading to cases of rickets among people.

When a city or town gets covered in smog, the effects are felt immediately. Smog can be responsible for any ailment from minor pains to deadly pulmonary diseases such as lung cancer. Smog is well known for causing irritation in the eye. It may also result in inflammation in the tissues of lungs; giving rise to pain in the chest. Other issues or illnesses such as cold and pneumonia are also related to smog. The human body faces great difficulty in defending itself against the harmful effects of smog.earth, leading to global warming).

GST update on four-slab 5% to 28%

Four bands of tax of between 5 per cent and 28 per cent, while agreeing to compensate states for losses on account of a shift to this new regime by way of cess.

Apart from the 5 per cent and 28 per cent rates, there will also be two standard rates of 12 per cent and 18 per cent. This apart, another category of tax will be imposed on luxury goods like high-end cars, pan masala, aerated drinks and tobacco products. They will be taxed at between 40 per cent and 65 per cent.

But foodgrains will be zero-rated to insulate people from inflationary pressures.

Giving these details at the conclusion of the first day of the council's two-day meeting, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said members also arrived at a consensus on tax rate for white goods. "The draft called for 26 per cent, the consensus is for 28 per cent," he said.

The current levy varies between nil tax to 30-31 per cent.

Jaitley also explained why the decision was taken to compensate states with a cess. "As per our calculation, Rs 50,000 crore will be needed in the first year for compensation. If we have to raise this by way of tax, we will need Rs 1,72,000 crore," he said.

He was alluding to what will potentially be left after the central government shares the tax with states -- that is, Rs 50,000 crore. "The cess is not an additional levy, but an existing one. So it will not be an additional burden of even a rupee," he said.

"Luxuary cars, tobacco, aerated drinks will be levied with a cess, which along with clean energy cess on usage of coal, will be used to compensate states for loss of revenue."

The Finance Minister also said the compensation to states will have a sunset clause of five years, even as the council will take a call every year to see if the same needed to be continued.

He said the items that will evoke nil tax comprise some 50 items that go into the basket of Consumer Price Index, while hite goods and similar category of products -- like washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, shampoo, shaving stuff and soap -- will have a rider.

"The rider is there are several items which are used by the lower middle class. The objective is that the tax will be still below the present rate. Additional revenue will be used to compensate so that GST has a progressive character."

He said a panel of secretaries will meet to identify which product will fit into which category. "This exercise will start immediately after the current meeting."

There was no consensus yet on tax rate for gold.

Welcoming the GST Council's decision of a four-slab rate structure, India Inc however cautioned the government that the multi-tier tax system may make the new indirect tax regime highly complex. It also suggested that most of the consumer goods should fall in the 18 per cent tax slab.

"Model GST Law suggests multiple registrations in each state for supply of goods and services. This has the potential to result in huge burden of complexity," said Naushad Forbes, President, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

"Over time, the government should commit to converge to one or two rates. It is important that the bulk of goods and services should fall within the standard rate of 18 per cent. The higher rate of 28 per cent should apply only to 'demerit goods'," CII said.

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) President Harshavardhan Neotia said: "We compliment the GST Council in reaching a consensus and finalising the four tier rate structure under GST. The rate structure will achieve the twin objective of protecting the revenues of the central and the state governments."

BMR and Associates LLP Partner Mahesh Jaising meanwhile told IANS that "in terms of the new GST rate structure, what is worrying the industry is the ambiguity on what will be covered under the 28 per cent slab".
